Andrew arrived in Australia in 1981 at the age of 14 after spending his childhood chopping firewood, wearing gumboots and being pillioned around Aotearoa on the back of his father's Norton Commando 750. After graduating from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Graphic Design he left Brisbane to see the world. It was while travelling in Nepal that he became addicted to getting lost in high mountains and high adventure.
Upon returning to Brisbane two years later, Andrew found his design calling among the dinosaurs at the Queensland Museum. Andrew entered the world of advertising in 1996, joining the creative team at McCann Erickson Brisbane. Here he soon won a Judges Award (best of show) at the Brisbane Advertising & Design (BAD) Awards; and formed a friendship with his future business partner Jack Harrison. A mutual dislike of Jurassic ad-agency structures cemented their relationship and futures.
Andrew enjoys nurturing nature at his semi-rural residence.
